Good News and Bad News

Posted by: RobertK on 03/01/2004 10:28 AM (Read: 1256)

First, the bad news. The menus are down for maintenance. They'll be back up shortly.

And the good? I just had a brief chat with the Project Lead at Appalachian State University, Brian Brown...

WORKFLOW:
Brian mentioned that he and the developers are discussing a workflow module for 9.4 that would contain approval chains for specific inputs.
For example, a student reserving a room would request various items
like a certain seating arrangement or AV equipment... (Ed Note: it's easy to see a request like this being split up among responsible parties for processing, much as a Case item does in a CRM workflow.)

WYSIWYG:
The team is looking at implementing an rtf editor for 9.4
Whatever they do must be standards compliant and not
run just on IE and use ActiveX.

RSS FEEDS and beyond...
Somewhere before 1.0 they would like to implement
the OWL standard into FatCat categorizer.

What do you think? Let everyone know!

I think that a good WYSIWYG editor would be really nice.

I'd really like to see .94 out as soon as possible, but I'm sure they do as well. Here's to hoping for it by the end of the school year.

I'll vote for the WYSIWYG editor! I'm wrestling with it for a long time now (pwhpws 0.9.3-2) and hope to see a stable version soon! (my site depends on it)
